ABOUT

Emi Denhof is a Senior Photography BFA student at Columbia College Chicago. Originally from southeast Michigan, Emi moved to Chicago to pursue a career in photography and further their education at Columbia College Chicago. Emi’s main areas of focus are fashion and fine art photography. Their fashion photography captures creative and stylish images. Their work focuses on expressing personality and style through bold visuals and strong storytelling. Their fine art work discusses the challenges of mental health issues, using photography as a journal to navigate and process these issues, visualizing the effects of mental illness and healing. The work is not only a way for the artist to cope but also to start a conversation about mental health. Emi uses a variety of mediums in their work, including digital photography, film, and alternative processes like Vandyke Brown printing.
